Freeze Protection
Freeze Protection
The DEKORON®/Unitherm™ line of Self-Regulating Electric Traced Tubing is a thermally insulated fluid transport line for use in applications requiring freeze protection or condensation prevention. The energy-efficient design provides for temperature maintenance of up to 100ºF (38ºC) at -40ºF (-40ºC) ambient. The standard product is available with 5, 10, 15 watt per foot, 120 VAC or 240 VAC self regulating heating element. The heating element will withstand exposure to temperatures of up to 366ºF (185ºC) allowing the process tubes to be steam purged with 150 psig saturated steam. The heaters used are approved world-wide for use in hazardous or potentially explosive atmospheres.
Applications for this product include
- Analyzer and instrument lines
- Impulse lines
- Freeze protect condensate return lines
Low output Constant Power Density heating elements are also available. These heaters provide longer circuit lengths and can withstand higher temperature excursions than the Self-Regulating heaters, but must be used with a temperature controller.
